Jim McKenzie has served as a senior executive in a variety of industries including technology, engineering, financial services, consulting and professional education. His background includes more than 30 years of experience in companies of all sizes where he was responsible for the establishment and execution of strategic objectives, oversight of key initiatives, management of executive teams across all corporate functions and departments, and leading corporate growth, acquisition and integration efforts. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors and on various Board Committees of numerous organizations.

Previously, Jim held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a leading provider of evidence-based education, certifications and advanced credentials to health and fitness professionals. While at NASM, he was responsible for all operations of the organization including sales, marketing, product development, information technology, finance, legal, accreditation and human resources. Ultimately, on behalf of the company’s shareholders, Jim led the negotiation and sale of NASM to a private equity portfolio company specializing in the professional education and credentialing markets.

Prior to joining NASM, Jim was the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Spectrem Group, a national consultancy, mergers and acquisitions, and market research firm. While at Spectrem, he guided a multi-faceted mergers and acquisitions advisory practice through a period of rapid and successful growth while also providing clients with strategic consulting and industry research analyses. Additionally, Jim oversaw the business operations of Spectrem and played a key role in the successful sale of the company to NFO Research, a NASDAQ-listed corporation.

Jim is a graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. He is a certified public accountant and member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Louisville High School. Jim resides in Westlake Village, California with his wife, Mary Ann.
